Directions:

From SH32 turn onto Waihora Road (signposted). Follow this gravel road for approx. 3 km before turning into the Waihora Lagoon car park.

The gravel road is in disrepair and is only recommended for 4WD vehicles.

The Whangamata Stream Trail is a beautiful forest walk and bike track that runs 3 km from the lake to Whangamata Road, taking in the historic Kinloch waterwheel. You may even see trout hiding under the banks of this clear-flowing spawning stream.

We've only just discovered how amazing this trail is and can't wait to do it again!
